Consistency is the steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, form, etc.
Mediocrity is the condition of being mediocre; having only an average degree of quality, skills, etc
The word “Consistency” may not be novel to you but it is important to note that if you want to remain relevant or you want to become a great force to be reckoned with, the need for consistency in what you do cannot be overemphasized.
So, before l proceed how consistent are you in growing your business, career, skill, etc
Do you think that you can become successful overnight?
The only magic to success is Consistency.
You will know that you are living a consistent life when you are getting results from your consistency. For example, you want to lose weight and you are continuously going to the gym, watching your diet, and taking up your exercising routine. It won’t take up to two months and you will realize that you are actually getting your dream body but if the reverse is the case, weeks would run into months and the results won’t be palatable.
I want you to picture consistency as the water you pour on a plant for it to grow. You know that the absence of water in a plant reduces its growth rate.
The deciding factor to know if a person is mediocre is simply CONSISTENCY. Avoid mediocrity as you would avoid a burning fire.
A wise man once said, “it’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, it’s what we do consistently”.
According to history, it took Thomas Edison 1000 tries to invent the light bulb. In other words, he failed 999 times before he reached success.
What if Mr. Thomas gave up at his tenth attempt?
Maybe he won’t have discovered the light bulb and no one would have heard of him. He achieved that great feat by being consistent to his discovery.
Consistency allows you to accomplish “elephant-sized” dreams and objectives “one bite at a time”.
Nobody remembers a mediocre. The best business plan will fail without a dedication to consistency. You won’t score a good grade in school if you are not consistent in reading your books. You won’t win the spelling competition if you are not dedicated to spelling a word every day. You won’t get the recognition of the best writer if you are not consistent in putting out your work for people to read.
Consistency births GROWTH.
Mediocrity births STAGNANCY.
To stay relevant, you have to be consistent.
To stay accountable, you have to be consistent.
To become successful, you have to be consistent.
To become an expert, you have to be consistent.
The world does not celebrate average people. The world celebrates people that are achieving great feats. It’s not too late to start. You are not permitted to be mediocre.
The truth is nobody becomes a professional at first attempt but with consistent effort, you will definitely get there.
So l ask, on a scale of 100% what is your Consistency level?
